NewsPapua - President Joko Widodo admitted that it is not easy to change the price of gasoline in Papua to par with other regions in Indonesia. The goverment has already begun efforts to reduce gasoline price in Papua since the beginning of the goverment or a half years ago. However, efforts of the goverments just materialized in October 2016 ago.
The price of gasoline in some small districts in Papua, which originally reached 60,000 - 100,000 rupiah, now may be same with Java, which is 6,450 rupiah. "Because many are not happy if the gasoline prices in Papua cheap. Because there are many who enjoy within, it's not easy,.." said Jokowi when opening National Congress Extraordinary Hanura in the Office DPP Hanura, Jakarta, Wednesday(21 February 2016).
One way of the goverment to cut off gasoline prices in Papua is buy some plane to bring gasoline. By doing so, the gasoline which has been difficult distributed by land and sea can be distributed throught the air. Pertamina spent 800 billion rupiah to buy plane to bring gasoline. Howerver, Jokowi ensure Pertamina will not lose money. "This year I estimate pricesly fortunately doubled, more than 40 trillion rupiah" said Jokowi
After the gasoline prices, Jokowi has targeted cement prices is decrase and seems like Java.
