Jonan and Parliament Meeting About Freeport until Gas, this result

Telkom pastikan penggunaan satelit untuk Biak-Manokwari

NewsPapua - General Manajer  PT Telkom Witel Papua Lonely Baringin Mangaranap membenarkan adanya rencana mematikan SMPCS untuk wilayah Biak - Manokwari yang akan berlangsung 19-26 Januari 2017.
"Iya itu benar, kami akan mematikan jaringan SMPCS wilayah Manokwari -Biak dan Sarmi, sehingga wilayah tersebut akan di-backup melalui satelit," ujar Lonely kepada wartawan, Rabu (18/1/2017). 
Untuk Papua, khususnya di Jayapura, tambahnya, hal itu tak mempengaruhi karena Telkom sudah menggunakan satelit sejak SMPCS putus.
"Yang pengaruh adalah Biak-Manokwari dan kami sudah prepare menggunakan satelit untuk melayani voice, SMS, dan internet," katanya.
General Manager ICT Telkomsel Papua - Maluku Muhamad Muslih mengatakan, pihaknya telah siap dengan satelit untuk adanya rencana yang telah diumumkan.
"Kami juga siap melayani dengan satelit untuk itu," tegasnya. (*)

Freeport bawa lebih banyak masalah ketimbang manfaat

NewsPapua - Lagi tudingan bahwa Freeport lebih banyak menjadi momok bagi kelangsungan rakyat Papua ketimbang manfaat datang dari elemen gerakan sosial di Jakarta.
Kali ini protes datang dari Papua Itu Kita (PIK), sebuah komunitas solidaritas untuk kemanusiaan dan keadilan di Papua berbasis di Jakarta.
“Dengan berlandaskan Kontrak Karya yang mulanya ditandatangani pada tahun 1967 dan diperpanjang hingga tahun 2021 mendatang, PTFI telah, dan akan terus menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan bagi masyarakat Papua dan kerugian bagi Indonesia,” demikian menurut rilis Papua Itu Kita yang diterima redaksi Sabtu (25/2/2016).
Pasalnya, menurut PIK, kehadiran Freeport sudah terbukti menimbulkan kehilangan hak, kekisruhan sosial-ekonomi, penderitaan bagi penduduk asli setempat, penghancuran budaya, dan kerusakan lingkungan, karena tidak menghormati hak-hak masyarakat setempat.
PIK juga mengingatkan bahwa KK I PT. FI tahun 2967 itu illegal, karena dilakukan sebelum Penentuan Pendapat Rakyat (Pepera) 1969.
“KK I dilaksanakan 2 tahun sebelum PEPERA, yaitu 1967, dan Papua saat itu hanya diawasi oleh Indonesia sebagai perwakilan PBB dan belum secara resmi menjadi wilayah hukum Indonesia, dan perdebatan status Papua pada masa awal KK I menjadi masalah politik yang belum selesai,” tulis PIK.
‘Usir’ Freeport
Mengutip catatan LSM Imparsial dan KontraS, PIK secara khusus juga menyoroti peran TNI Polri dalam bisnis keamanan PT. FI. Dalam rilisnya itu PIK menyebutkan
“Imparsial mengungkapkan bahwa pada tahun 1995-2004 Polri dan TNI telah menerima aliran dana sebesar US$ 64 Juta dan US$ 1 juta pada tahun 2010 dari PTFI. Sedangkan KontraS juga melaporkan tiap bulannya anggota Polri memperoleh honor Rp 1,25 juta oleh manajemen PTFI,” tulisnya.
Pada tahun 2011 lalu, Indonesia Police Watch (IPW), menurut PIK juga pernah mendorong agar KPK mengusut “bantuan dana” sebesar US$ 14 juta yang dialirkan oleh PTFI pada Polri dan TNI.
Atas dasar hal tersebut, PIK menuntut agar PT. FI ditutup dan asetnya dikembalikan ke negara dan rakyat Papua. Mereka juga meminta kelangsungan pembicaraan terkait PT. FI agar melibatkan masyarakat adat papua, DPRD, dan elemen masyarakat Papua.
Terpisah, Direktur Pusat Budaya dan Hak-Hak Masyarakat (PUSAKA) Papua, Franky Samperante dilansir IndoPress, Jumat (24/2) mengatakan warga tidak terpengaruh terkait perdebatan Freeport.
Menurut Franky, perdebatan soal Freeport yang ramai saat ini hanya soal bagi-bagi untung antara PT Freeport dan pemerintah, namun sama sekali mengacuhkan nasib warga Papua sendiri.
 “Sejak Freeport mulai ada di Papua, itu belum ada satu forum atau kesempatan buat masyarakat untuk suarakan aspirasinya terkait hak-hak mereka,”
